The San Antonio Lactation Support Center was formerly known as Baby Café. It is a welcoming space for breastfeeding mothers and pregnant women to:

  • learn
  • socialize
  • participate in a support group
  • receive free individual counseling for breastfeeding
  • speak to a health professional about infant feeding in a non-clinical, café-style environment

Free Services

Breastfeeding mothers in Bexar County have access to the following free services:

  • group support
  • access to International Board Certified Lactation Consultants (IBCLC's)
  • access to a Registered Dietitian
  • a place to talk and share experiences
  • help with latching
  • help with increasing milk supply
  • lactation management
  • refreshments
  • a comfortable environment
  • literature and other resources
  • computer access for breastfeeding related information

If you are pregnant or breastfeeding and need assistance, call us. Breastfeeding is the best source of infant nutrition and the healthiest choice for both mother and baby.

If you know someone who is pregnant, encourage them to contact the San Antonio Lactation Support Center to learn more about breastfeeding support. Healthcare providers can also refer patients to the center.
