Day Care & Custodial Care Facilities

If you have a complaint about care of children in day care centers, playgrounds at day care centers, or want to know where to find a child care center, visit the Search Texas Child Care section of the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services or call the Texas Department of Protective and Regulatory Services (TDPRS) at 210-337-3399. No On-site Food Preparation $61.80 Annual permit fee for child care facility with no on-site food preparation.
Primary Food Service (Food prepared on site) $216.30 Annual permit fee for child care facility with food preparation.
Facility - Satellite (Food prepared offsite) $103 Annual permit fee for facility that serves food that is prepared offsite by an approved source.
Food Learning Center $37.08 Annual permit fee for child care facility that prepares food occasionally for a learning experience and not as a meal.
Group Day Home Facility $108.15 Fee for facility that provides care less than 24 hours per day for 7 - 12 children under age 14.
After School Care at Multiple Sites $20.60 Per Site Fee for agencies serving school-age children, after school, with no onsite food preparation.
Childcare License Replacement Fee $15.45 License replacement for lost documentation

Child Care Reinspection Fees

Reinspection fees are assessed to child care facilities found to have critical health violations.

  • First Reinspection: $103
  • Second Reinspection: $118.45
  • Third Reinspection: $128.75
  • Fourth Reinspection: $154.50
