Program Overview
The Healthy Corner Stores program increases community access to convenient, fresh, and affordable, fruit and vegetables across San Antonio.Launched in 2019, the program has grown to include more than 45 Member Stores in neighborhoods that have low access to fresh produce with the goals of improving community health and supporting local economic growth. Member Stores have provided more than 320,000 pounds of produce and over 50 types of fruit and vegetables to the community!
All Member Stores accept SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program) benefits.
Mission
The Healthy Corner Store Program supports neighborhood stores through local partnership and capacity building to promote and increase equitable access to fresh fruit and vegetables where we live, work, and play.
