Mayor's Fitness Council

The Mayor's Fitness Council (MFC) is a community-wide collaborative focused on reducing obesity in San Antonio.

The mission of the MFC is to increase awareness and connect San Antonio residents to opportunities for improved emotional well-being, physical activity and healthy eating.

Committees

The Mayor's Fitness Council is organized into several committees:

Executive Committee

Community Committee
The committee engages and empowers communities to seek physical activity, engage in mindfulness opportunities and adopt good nutritional traits.
Healthy Schools Committee
The committee meets monthly with Bexar County ISD administrators and community partners. They collaborate on hosting Healthy Schools Summits, Specialty Forums, Workshops and sharing best practices.
San Antonio Business Group on Health (SABGH)

Student Ambassador Program

The mission of the MFC Student Ambassador Program is to involve youth in improving the health of San Antonio. Student Ambassadors represent the MFC by promoting and encouraging healthy living at their campus and in their communities. Each Student Ambassador implements a health-related service project at their school or in the community.

The MFC is looking for:

  • Role models
  • Leaders
  • Change-makers who empower their schools, friends, and families to lead healthier lives.

Students in middle and high school are eligible to participate in this program.
