The Resource Center at Villa Coronado serves the Southside community by:
  • increasing access to healthy foods.
  • connecting people to resources.
  • promoting healthy eating and active living.

Open since September 2023, Metro Health's Healthy Neighborhoods Program operates the center.

Amenities

The following amenities are available:

  • Space for community meetings and support groups
  • Little Free Library
  • A private lactation room
  • A resource closet that includes:
    • Food pantry
    • Infant and adult diapers
    • Infant formula
    • Children and adult clothing

Activities

The following activities are available:

  • Resume workshops and job application support
  • Help with enrolling in federal benefits
    (examples: SNAP, TANF)
  • Monthly mobile health services, such as:
    • STI testing
    • mammograms
    • WIC enrollment
  • Fitness classes, such as:
    • walking groups
    • Tai-Chi
    • yoga
  • Fruit tree maintenance and harvesting activities
  • Nutrition and gardening classes
  • Health promotion classes, such as:
    • Diabetes
    • Self-Management
    • Positive Parenting Program
