Promoting health and ongoing efforts to decrease violence among youth is integral to Metro Health.

In response, the City of San Antonio, University of Texas at San Antonio, and faith and community leaders partnered to develop a unified San Antonio/Bexar County Violence Prevention Strategic Plan which defines strategies to prevent and intervene in violence in our community.

The plan aims to prevent violence among youth by reducing rate of firearms as cause of death, suicide, and bullying. It will also focus on creating safe spaces and supportive networks for youth.
