The DUFB program, a Texas-based initiative, helps SNAP recipients double their dollar when buying fresh fruits and vegetables, dollar for dollar, up to $30 a day. By doubling food benefits and supporting better eating habits, DUFB empowers individuals to take control of their health.
Public health plays a critical role in reducing food insecurity by increasing access to affordable, nutritious foods and educating communities on healthy eating habits. Food insecurity not only affects daily well-being—it is closely linked to the development and progression of chronic diseases such as diabetes, heart disease, and obesity.
