Legal Asset Seizure Detail

The Legal Asset Seizure Detail handles property confiscated by police during operations. They investigate property seizures to ensure that the laws are being followed.

The detail also conducts forfeited property and vehicle auctions. We post notices of auctions, including dates and times, in the News Release section of this website, and on the SAPD Facebook page.

• All property must be paid for and picked up on the day of the sale.

NOTE: Gates open at 5 p.m. and the auction begins at 6 p.m. on auction days.

• Bidders must register before the start of the sale.
• Registration and viewing begin at 5 p.m.
• Payment is by cash or credit card (No American Express).
• Units must be paid for on the day of the sale.
• Vehicles may be picked up on Wednesday between 6:30 p.m and 10 p.m, or Thursday and Friday between 8:30 a.m. and 4 p.m.
• All vehicles must be removed by 4 p.m. on Friday.
