You may submit police records requests through San Antonio Police Department (SAPD), including crash reports. Police open records available include:
- Police reports
- Incident reports
- Crash/vehicle accident reports (also available through TxDOT Crash Report Online Purchase System)
- Calls for service
- Towing records
- 911 calls
- Body and dash cam footage

The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) provides an easy online system for finding and ordering vehicle accident reports.
Certified (with the State of Texas seal) and uncertified copies are available.
NOTE: Reports can take up to 14 days to appear in the system.

Request Records from SAPD
Police Open Records requests involve police activities and incidents.
NOTE: Reports prior to 2011 are stored in an off-site archives storage facility. Archived reports may take longer to retrieve and may incur additional costs.
Gather Information
To make your request more efficient, please provide the SAPD case number if known. Otherwise, provide two or more of the following:
- Date of incident
- Location of incident
- Name of persons involved (include dates of birth for common names)
- Basic description of incident (car accident, theft, disturbance, etc.)
Police Open Records Fees
Online and mail requests may be paid by check or money order sent via US Mail. The SAPD headquarters accepts cash, credit cards, money orders, and checks.
