North Substation & SAFFE Unit

The North Service Area covers a large area that includes:

• Sprawling parks
• Art Museums
• Sports facilities
• An accessibility focused theme park (Morgan’s Wonderland)
• Iconic Cowboy boots at North Star Mall. 

Diverse neighborhoods, including Stone Oak, Rogers Ranch, and Canyon Springs are a few that make up this great area of the city.

SAFFE

Each substation includes a San Antonio Fear Free Environment (SAFFE) Unit with officers assigned to specific streets or neighborhoods. SAFFE officers work with residents, businesses, community leaders, and patrol officers to help prevent crimes before they happen. SAFFE officer duties include:

• Identify and resolve problems
• Act as liaisons with other City agencies
• Participate in school and youth outreach programs
• Coordinate graffiti removal
• Provide crime prevention resources to residents
