The SAPD created Success Through Respect (STR) to build a relationship and establish trust with youth in San Antonio. The program is aimed at students from middle school to college. Students experience a variety of scenarios from the point of view of police in this live presentation by SAPD officers.
Presentation Goals
- Encourage open communication between police officers and the city’s youth
- Create a safer environment for the public and police
- Build mutual respect and trust between officers and the community they serve
- Dismiss misconceptions portrayed by media or peers
This presentation has received positive feedback from students and administrators. SAPD is able to hold this presentation at your school, church, or business. We can also host the presentation at the SAPD Training Academy or Public Safety Headquarters. Ideal group size is 20–30 students, but there are no restrictions on the number of people in a group.
