Northwest / Prue Substation & SAFFE Unit

The Northwest / Prue Service Area encompasses a large diverse area approximately the size of Corpus Christi, Texas.

It is home to one of the largest insurance companies in America, USAA.

It has a highly respected South Texas Medical Center area providing specialized services to the community and serves the second largest Homeowners Associations in the nation, “The Great Northwest”.

The Northwest Service area also has its own tourist attractions like:

• The Shops of La Cantera
• The Rim Shopping Center
• Fiesta Texas

SAFFE

Each substation includes a San Antonio Fear Free Environment (SAFFE) Unit with officers assigned to specific streets or neighborhoods. SAFFE officers work with residents, businesses, community leaders, and patrol officers to help prevent crimes before they happen. SAFFE officer duties include:

• Identify and resolve problems
• Act as liaisons with other City agencies
• Participate in school and youth outreach programs
• Coordinate graffiti removal
• Provide crime prevention resources to residents
