The City's Emergency Weather Repair Program is now available to assist homeowners affected by the severe weather event on August 28, 2026.
NOTE: To report storm damage and get a referral for Emergency Home Repair Assistance, call 3-1-1 or 210-207-6000.
How the Program Works
- Homeowners are encouraged to call 311 Customer Service to notify the City of any storm-related home repair needs.
- A City representative will follow up with homeowners directly to confirm eligibility and provide home repair options.
- Homeowners may select a qualified contractor to complete the repairs, and the City will pay for repairs on the homeowner's behalf.
Eligibility
- The home must be inside San Antonio city limits and be impacted by the severe weather event. Only damage caused by the August 28, 2026, storm will be addressed.
- The owner must reside in the home.
- The property must have a current Homestead Exemption.
- Household income must be equal to or less than 80% Area Median Income (AMI).
- The homeowner must confirm they do not have insurance to cover the losses or demonstrate a financial hardship that prevents them from using their homeowner's insurance. City staff may contact the insurance company to confirm the damage is not covered.
- Repairs must be necessary to address the health, safety, accessibility, or code-compliance impact of the qualifying damage.
