Ian Benavidez most recently served as the Assistant Director with the Neighborhood and Housing Services Department. He has over 10 years of local government experience working in a variety of departments from Planning to Public Works. He most recently oversaw the adoption of the city’s Strategic Housing Implementation Plan (SHIP) that will be used to guide affordable housing investment in San Antonio and as well as the development of the 2022 Housing Bond. He has Bachelor of Science in environmental science from St . Edwards University and a Master in Urban and Regional Planning from the University of Texas at San Antonio.
