APPLICATION

  • RSS is currently accepting applications for subcommittee member appointments.
  • Apply online by clicking here.

  • Applications will be reviewed starting Monday April 8, 2024, with subcommittee appointments announced in May 2024. After that time, the subcommittee will still accept applications and review them on a rolling basis as positions become available.

CHARGE

The Renter's Solutions Subcommittee is charged to advise the Housing Commission on renter-related issues including, but not limited to: Emergency rental assistance; Tenants’ rights & legal aid; Education, outreach, & training; and Legislative items.

SUBCOMMITTEE MEMBERSHIP

  • 9 Members: (4 Renters; 3 Property managers/owners; 2 Housing Commissioners)

TERM LENGTH

  • Staggered two-year terms, with a two-term limit

Meetings

  • Regular meeting schedule can be determined by the subcommittee members (eg: monthly, quarterly)
  • Additional as needed

GOALS

  • Make recommendations to Housing Commission on renter-related issues
  • Ensure renters have a voice on renter-related issues that are part of Commission conversations
  • Encourage development of relationships and understanding between property managers and renters

EL SUBCOMITÉ DE ASUNTOS DE INQUILINOS

  • Las solicitudes se revisarán a partir del lunes 8 de abril de 2024, y los nombramientos del subcomité se anunciarán en mayo de 2024. Después de ese tiempo, el subcomité seguirá aceptando solicitudes y las revisará de forma continua a medida que haya puestos disponibles.

CARGA

El Subcomité de Asuntos de Inquilinos está a cargo de asesorar a la Comisión de Vivienda sobre asuntos relacionados con inquilinos que incluyen, entre otros: asistencia de emergencia para el alquiler; Derechos de los Inquilinos y Asistencia Legal; Educación, divulgación y capacitación; y artículos legislativos.

MEMBRESÍA DEL SUBCOMITÉ

  • 9 miembros: (4 inquilinos; 3 administradores/propietarios de propiedades; 2 Comisionados de Vivienda)
DURACIÓN DEL PLAZO
  • Plazos escalonados de dos años, con un límite de dos plazos
REUNIONES
    • Los miembros del subcomité pueden determinar el horario de las reuniones periódicas (p. ej., mensual, trimestral)

    OBJETIVOS
    • Hacer recomendaciones a la Comisión de Vivienda sobre asuntos relacionados con los inquilinos
    • Asegurar que los inquilinos tengan voz sobre los asuntos relacionados con los inquilinos que son parte de las conversaciones de la Comisión
    • Fomentar el desarrollo de relaciones y entendimiento entre administradores de propiedades e inquilinos
