Ms. Smith has more than 10 years of experience with the City of San Antonio and was promoted to her current position as Assistant Finance Director over the Accounting Services Group in February 2026. Accounting Services encompasses:
Ms. Smith began her accounting career with the City of San Antonio’s Finance Department in 2015, working in the Controller’s Office in multiple financial accounting roles. In 2020, she was promoted to Department Fiscal Administrator. As Department Fiscal Administrator, she served a strategic advisor to executive leadership on high-impact, multimillion-dollar initiatives such as the enterprise-wide Financial System Upgrade and the mission-critical Alamo Area Regional Radio System and managed complex budgets including the City’s $270 million Coronavirus Relief Fund and Information Technology Services $174 million capital budget.
