For the tenth consecutive year, the City of San Antonio has maintained general obligation bond ratings of ‘AAA’ by bond rating agencies Standard & Poor’s and Moody’s. The ‘AAA’ bond rating is the highest credit rating that an entity can receive. Fitch has assigned a rating of 'AA+' with a stable outlook. These overall excellent bond ratings mean a low cost of borrowing on the City’s property tax-supported debt, which allows for potentially more funding for many of the City’s capital projects.
The City’s latest fiscal year Annual Comprehensive Financial Report was submitted to the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) for participation in its Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting Program(PDF, 23MB), an award which the City of San Antonio has received for the last 42 consecutive years.
