Assistant Finance Director, Margaret U. Villegas

Ms. Villegas has more than 20 years of experience with the City of San Antonio and currently serves as Assistant Finance Director. Her areas of responsibility include:

  • debt management
  • investment portfolio management
  • banking services
  • revenue collections, including the collection of Hotel Occupancy Taxes and the administration of property taxes for the City
  • overseeing the updating and administration of the finance plans for the City’s Tax Increment Reinvestment Zones

She has participated in competitive and negotiated bond financings exceeding $9 billion for the City of San Antonio and oversees all issuances of general obligation bonds, certificates of obligation, revenue bonds and special financings.

Education

Bachelor of Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting, St. Mary’s University.
