Melisa Mota Ramirez is a proud San Antonio native, born and raised on the city’s Westside and a graduate of John Jay High School. With more than 30 years of experience in public service and land development, Mrs. Ramirez has served the City of San Antonio since 1995, joined Development Services in 1998, and again in 2007.

In August 2025, she was appointed Deputy Director, overseeing Code Enforcement and Building Inspections. In February 2025, she began overseeing the Building Development Division, which includes Plan Review, Permitting, and Building Inspections, with a strong focus on ensuring health and safety in building construction.
Mrs. Ramirez is also deeply committed to her community. She volunteers with organizations such as Habitat for Humanity and the San Antonio Food Bank and participates annually in the Martin Luther King Jr. March. Her dedication to San Antonio is reflected in both her professional leadership and her continued community involvement.
