Point Repair Permit

Fees

$170 total:

  • $50 application fee
  • $120 inspection fee

When the Permit is Needed

These fees apply to:

  • Excavation Permits of 49 feet or less related to utility work
  • Non-Excavation Permits
  • Street Boring Permits

Project Permits

Fees

  • $50 application fee
  • Daily tier fee which is billed monthly

The daily tier fee is based on the anticipated number of days to complete work:

Tier Cost Timeline

Tier 1

$60 per day

Fewer than 60 days

Tier 2

$90 per day

61 - 120 days

Tier 3

$120 per day

121 - 180 days

Tier 4

$150 per day

More than 180 days

When the Permit is Needed

These fees apply to the following:

  • Excavation permits of 50 feet or more related to utility work
  • Cured-In-Place Pipe (CIPP) Manhole Servicing Permits without Excavation
  • Pipe Bursting Permits

Excavation

Project permits must be submitted through the permit system at least 30 days before the start of any planned project involving excavation of 50 linear feet or more. Submissions must include project plans and a completed Project Information Form (PIF)(PDF, 178KB) .

Lane/Sidewalk Closure Permits

Lane/Sidewalk Closure Permits are temporary closures of full or partial areas of a lane(s) and or sidewalk(s).

Fees

  • $50 application fee
  • Daily fee determined by square footage of the closure

Calculate Your Fee

Use this formula to calculate your total fee, or refer to the instructions below: (0.0629 × total square feet of the closed area) × number of days + $50 = total fee

Instructions

Use the following steps to calculate the fees:

  1. To determine the daily fee, multiply the following items together:
    • 0.0629
    • total square feet of the closed area
  2. Multiply the daily fee by the number of days for the closure.
  3. Add the $50 application fee to determine your total fee.

When the Permit is Needed

This permit applies to:

Maintenance Work

A permit is required for the removal, repair, modification or installation of the following:

  • sidewalks
  • driveway approaches
  • curbs/gutters
  • median work
  • acceleration/deceleration
  • traffic signals
  • turn lanes
Merchandise

A permit is required for the following actions when done on or over a sidewalk:

  • selling
  • offering to sell
  • exchanging
  • ordering
