About

Remember the River is a comprehensive public education and outreach campaign for the City of San Antonio.

The campaign is developed and coordinated through the Public Works Department with support from:

• San Antonio Water System (SAWS)
• City departments
• Local organizations
• Community groups

All public campaign efforts are conducted in compliance with education and outreach guidelines established under the Phase I Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System (MS4) storm water discharge permit mandated by the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ).

Campaign Goals

The primary goals of the campaign are to:

• Educate, inform and increase awareness among individual residents and commercial groups regarding nonpoint source pollution.
• Promote practices which help reduce and prevent pollutants from entering the MS4 through storm water runoff.
