Flag Loan Program

The flag loan program is a free community resource managed by our Global Relations team. It allows community organizations and citizens use of our collection in upwards of 200 flags. Our inventory of flags travels all over the city to various community, educational and business events where protocol is observed.

The Global Engagement Division also invites and accepts contributions to expand our collection. If you have flags you wish to donate for public use, please contact us.

Request Flags

Step 1.Review & Request Available Flags

Our roster includes flags from all over the world, as well as important domestic flags, including the United States, Texas and San Antonio flags.

Each flag:

  • is 3 feet by 5 feet with gold fringe.
  • has a pole pocket to easily hang on the flagpole.
  • comes with a base, flagpole and finial.

If you or your organization has a need for use of flags, please complete the Flag Loan Request Form below or contact us for more information.

Submit a Request

A confirmation email will be sent within 1 to 3 business days of submitting the form.

NOTE: All flag loan requests require up to 3 business days for processing. Please plan accordingly to ensure timely pick-up and drop-off.

Step 2.Pick Up the Flag(s)

Once your flag loan is confirmed and pick-up dates scheduled, you will be asked to physically sign-out your flag(s) upon pick-up.

The borrower assumes all responsibility for flags, poles, bases and finials. Lost, broken, or damaged equipment will be replaced or repaired at the borrower's expense.

Please be careful with the bases as they are filled with sand and might leak.

If ordering a large number of flags, please bring a vehicle that can accommodate all the items.

Step 3.Display the Flag(s)

If displaying the flag of another nation along with the American flag, please note that per protocol, the American flag goes to the left of the observer.

Please remember that flags are an important national symbol to many and to treat them with respect.

Step 4.Return the Flag(s)

When returning multiple flags, please make sure to place them in the correct bags.

When returning poles, please rubber band them together to make sure they are numerically matched.
