The Economic Development Department's Global Engagement Division helps facilitate the economic partnerships and cultural exchanges that place San Antonio on a global stage and ensure that the City remains competitive. The Global Engagement Office serves as San Antonio's front door to the rest of the world. Its roles include advising and training local agencies on international projects, building relationships with San Antonio's sister and partner cities, hosting international dignitaries, and helps provide access to local partners, investors, and global entities to facilitate bilateral trade and investment resulting in job growth.

The Global Engagement team plans and orchestrates many inbound and outbound initiatives focused on prioritizing metros across the globe for investment, expanding San Antonio residents' access to the world and elevating San Antonio's reputation globally.

Our City's international strategy is a multi-faceted approach that includes business, diplomacy, culture and education. The Global Engagement team provides lead City support for trade missions and international delegations and manages a highly successful and internationally recognized sister cities program.
