Overview
Labor Compliance monitors all City of San Antonio construction contract projects for prevailing wage requirement compliance as defined in:
- Chapter 2258 of the Texas Government Code Statute (Prevailing Wage Rates)
- City Ordinance 2008-11-20-1045 with attached General Conditions
- the Contract Work Hours and Safety Standard Act as amended (Overtime)
- the Copeland (Anti-Kickback) Act
- the Davis-Bacon Act as amended
- the False Information Act
Certified payrolls are required to be submitted on a weekly basis via LCPtracker. Project field visits are conducted to interview mechanics and laborers to ensure prevailing wage compliance. Contractors are notified of any prevailing wage violations, which carry a $60 a day/occurrence per employee penalty.
