Immigrant Affairs

The Immigrant Affairs Office (IAO) supports City departments in improving access to services for immigrant and refugee residents by providing guidance, resources, and tools. IAO serves as the primary liaison between immigrant and refugee communities, City departments, local, state, and federal agencies. Its work aligns with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and the City of San Antonio’s Non-Discrimination Ordinance.

Events

The Office of the Immigration Liaison partners with local organizations to hold annual events for San Antonio immigrants and refugees.

Naturalization & Citizenship

The Office of the Immigration Liaison partners with U.S Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) and the U.S District Court Western District of Texas to hold annual naturalization ceremonies in City venues. Additionally, the Office of the Immigration Liaison partners with local organizations to provide free citizenship clinics to San Antonio residents.
