The City of San Antonio supports the community’s efforts to end homelessness through participation on the South Alamo Regional Alliance to End Homelessness Continuum of Care; with support, coordination and contracts between community based homeless services providers. Support to homeless providers includes the following:

  • Alamo Area Resource Center Greater San Antonio Housing Works - Provides a housing resource database, housing locator service, and intensive housing case management to assist individuals and families with HIV/AIDS in locating and maintaining safe, affordable, and appropriate housing.
  • American GI Forum - Our goal is to provide services to no fewer than 1,000 individuals each year through a variety of innovative operations, including housing services for homeless veterans and their families, job assistance for veterans with barriers to employment, and a program for both veterans and non-veterans who need assistance with moving off of public benefits and reintegrating into the workforce.
  • Beat-AIDS Coalition Trust, Inc. Case Management - Provides case management to individuals infected with HIV/AIDS to encourage linkage to community supports and adherence to medical treatment.
  • Corazon Ministries - Corazon San Antonio operates in the heart of downtown San Antonio at Travis Park Church and Grace Lutheran Church serving our homeless and marginalized neighbors by providing hot meals, clothing, warm showers, hygiene items, access to primary medical care, optometry and dermatology care, barber haircuts, art therapy, recovery groups and prayer circle.
  • Daughters of Charity Services of San Antonio (De Paul Family Center)- Offers crisis intervention and assistance with personal and family problems requiring profession direction. Provides emergency assistance with food, clothing and medication, and emergency utility assistance for those in specified areas of town (Southside; see zip code list. Also serving Somerset, Jourdanton, and Von Ormy.) A food distribution center for the San Antonio Food Bank’s Project H.O.P.E commodity program. Distributes free groceries to persons aged 60 and older who meet financial eligibility criteria.
  • Endeavors - Through permanent supportive housing, families receive case management, professional counseling, life skills training, and employment opportunities, allowing them to increase self-sufficiency and family income, while decreasing episodes of homelessness and/or acute psychiatric care.
  • Family Violence Prevention Services, Inc. - FVPS is able to offer residential and non-residential client’s shelter, transitional housing, counseling for adults, children, families, and legal services. These services help individuals and families recover from the pain and longer-term effects of domestic violence

  • Pay it Forward - We provide assistance to men & women who are coming out of drug or alcohol rehab or incarceration and need a safe, clean & sober living environment to prevent relapse and reduce the likelihood of more homeless families. We also provide emergency housing assistance by paying security deposit and first two weeks of rent for entry into an approved sober living home, as well as grocery gift cards and bus passes, whenever possible, to remove barriers to getting employed
  • Roy Maas Alternative Youth - RMYA’s Centro Seguro Drop-In Center is a 24-hour drop-in center & youth up to 24 years of age, who are at-risk or victims of trafficking, homelessness, runaway, or other unsafe living conditions. While at the drop-in center, youth receive a hot shower, meal, change of clothing, and access to immediate therapeutic services.
