Delinquent Cases
The San Antonio Municipal Court entered into an agreement with Linebarger, Goggan, Blair & Sampson, LLP in August 2025 to assist in addressing delinquent criminal, parking and civil code citations.
Under Texas law, municipal court citations do not expire and remain enforceable until they are resolved. This provides clear legal authority for the City to ensure accountability for unresolved violations, regardless of age.
The Court's goal is to resolve outstanding cases, promote compliance with the law, provide fair opportunities to be heard, and help residents avoid the escalating consequences associated with long-standing warrants and unresolved civil code or parking citations.

Resolving Outstanding Citations
Individuals may resolve outstanding citations by appearing before the Court or by utilizing available options such as online or mail resolution.
Upon individual review, a judge may:
- assess fines and costs
- reduce or waive amounts due
- grant extensions
- order community service
- authorize other alternatives to payment, as permitted by law
Notices sent out on unadjudicated cases still provide the opportunity to contest a case and set it for trial.
Older Cases
Due to resource limitations, the Court's direct outreach efforts have historically focused on cases that are two or three years past due. Through this agreement with the law firm, the Court is able to extend outreach to older cases, encouraging individuals to appear before the Court and resolve outstanding matters.
