Process

Step 1.Required Information

Alleged Defendant Information

You also must have following information for the alleged defendant:

  • Name
  • Address
  • Date of Birth

Police Reports

You must have a copy of your police report(s) to file a charge.

If you do not have your police report, you can purchase one online, by mail, or in person from the San Antonio Police Department.

Step 2.Make an Appointment

An appointment to file a charge or prosecution is necessary. To make an appointment, call 210-207-7355.

Step 3.Initial Information Form

You are required to complete an initial information form. This will give information on yourself and the person you are making the complaint against (the Defendant). Additionally, you will need a brief description of the incident.

Step 4.Sign an Affidavit

A Community Services Specialist or Assistant City Attorney/Prosecutor will speak with you and gather all the facts and information regarding your case. You will then be required to sign an affidavit.

You must have some form of government issued picture ID prior to signing the affidavit.
