If you remedy the defect and show proof of the correction before your first court appearance date, you may request a dismissal of your citation with a reimbursement fee if charged with one of the following offenses:
Driver's License Offenses
- Expired driver's license
- Fail to report a change of address or name on driver's license.
- Violate driver's license restriction or endorsement.
Vehicle Registration Offenses
- Expired vehicle registration
- Defendant must remedy the defect and show proof of payment of late registration fee to county assessor-collector.
- Operate vehicle without valid registration insignia properly displayed.
- Attach or display on a vehicle a registration insignia that is assigned for a period other than in effect.
Vehicle Operation Offenses
- Operate vehicle without two valid license plates.
- Attach or display on a vehicle a license plate that is assigned for a period other than in effect, or has:
- blurring, reflective, coating, covering.
- protective matter.
- attached illuminated device.
- sticker, decal or emblem that obscures, impairs, or interferes with the plate's readability.
- Operate vehicle with defective required equipment (or in unsafe condition).
- Operate a vehicle without complying with inspection requirements as certified (vehicle was located in another state at the time the applicant applied for registration or renewal, Section 548.256(b) of the Transportation Code).
- Operate vessel with an expired certificate of number.
