The Fire Prevention Division, under direction of the Fire Marshal, Assistant Chief Valerie Frausto, provides a fire-safe environment for the citizens of San Antonio.
This fire-safe environment is achieved through three areas of service:

Arson Investigations
Public Education
The Inspections Division Fire Code adoption, inspection and revision. The current adopted code is the 2018 International Fire Code® with amendments.
The Arson Bureau is responsible for investigating the cause of fires and explosions.
Community Safety and Education promotes a safe, healthy lifestyle among children and their families.
