NOTE: CPAT workshops are only offered to those candidates who have already applied for the 2026 entrance exam.
CPAT Orientation will consist of both classroom instruction and course orientation. Our team will go into detail about the CPAT course, each event and what is expected of you.
This will also be your opportunity to ask questions about the physical course and gain a better understanding of what to expect.

2026 Applicants were notified via email to book your CPAT Orientation Date or opt out (If you have previously attended a CPAT Orientation). If you have any questions, email the recruitment team.
Attendance Policy
You are required to attend the CPAT Orientation in person. Please bring a valid government issued ID (example: Driver’s license, passport) to orientation.
If you reside more than 100 miles away from SAFD Fire Training Academy, you must contact us to request an exception.
Please include the following information to be considered for virtual CPAT orientation:
- Name
- Rank Number
- Residential Address
Dress Code
- Business casual
- No tennis shoes, t-shirts or shorts
