Community Outreach

Animal Care Services (ACS) Community Outreach Program supports the shelter’s mission, including:

• enhanced enforcement
• increasing live release
• controlling the roaming population
• engaging and educating the community

Responsible pet ownership begins with education:

• proper pet care and training
• responsibilities that go with pet ownership

The ACS Education & Outreach team

• provides educational programs on
  • Animal Bite Avoidance
  • Responsible Pet Ownership
• visits almost all public and private elementary schools on a yearly basis

Programs and speakers are available for the following:

• middle schools
• high schools
• neighborhood association meetings
• community events
• other forums
