Recycling Service Requirements
Your recycling collection service needs to meet these requirements:
- Recycling collection as convenient as garbage collection
- No overflow from recycling containers
- Have a recycling container next or close to every available trash container (see image)
- Recycling containers of similar size or offer similar capacity as trash containers
- All recycling containers have signage that indicate it is for recyclables
- All recycling containers have signage that indicate accepted recyclables
Information for Your Residents
Provide new and existing residents this information about your collection service:
- Location of recycling containers
- Type of containers accepted
- Any changes to recycling collection services
Self-Haul Requirements
If you choose to self-haul recyclables to a material recovery facility, you must submit an annual report with the following:
- Total number of living units
- Total tons of recyclable material collected
- Name(s) and address(es) of material recovery facility to which recyclable were taken
