Utility Assistance

The City of San Antonio offers utility assistance to eligible households needing help with their energy bills.

Priority is provided to:

Households with children under the age of 17 years.
Individuals with a disability (must provide medical documentation with the application or social security disability insurance award letter).
Adults 60 years or older.

Eligibility

To be eligible, the total annual household income must meet 150% or less of the Federal Poverty Income Guidelines (PDF).

This application will require:

Proof of Income - Must submit proof of current income for the past 30 days that fall within the application date, for all household members 18 years and older living in the home.
Award Letters - Current year social security, supplemental security income, disability, unemployment letter, or a bank statement within the last 30 days of intake application showing an income deposit.
Notarized Letter from Employer
W-2 or 1099 Income Tax Statements
Active CPS Account - Documentation needed includes a copy of the CPS energy bill and account number.
Photo ID(s) for Account Holder - Texas ID/driver's license/matricular consular or passport.
Social Security Number of Account Holder - Last four digits only.
