Ceremonials & Honorariums

All ceremonial items from the Office of the City Clerk are prepared on behalf of the Mayor.

Guidelines for Requests

  • Requests must be for local organizations or residents of San Antonio.
  • Requests must be submitted at least 30 days before the event date. If less than 30 days, they will be denied.
  • Submitting a request 30 days in advance adds it to our review dashboard.
  • Due to the large number of requests, vetting usually begins two weeks before the event date.
  • Early submission does not mean the request is already being reviewed; all reviews occur in date order beginning two weeks prior to the event.
  • One copy of each approved ceremonial item is provided free of charge. Each additional copy is $5.
  • Ceremonial items related to elections or official visits of fraternal, auxiliary or similar organizations will NOT be considered.
  • If a request does not meet the criteria, the requestor will be notified.
  • Incomplete requests will not be reviewed.
  • Requests must meet the eligibility categories established by the City Clerk's Office.
