Mission United – United Way of San Antonio & Bexar County

Provides centralized case management and resource navigation for veterans, transitioning service members, and military families, including housing assistance, employment support, legal services, healthcare access, and benefits navigation.

Veterans Crisis Line

Provides confidential crisis support 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for veterans, service members, National Guard and Reserve members, and their families.

Benefits Assistance & Veteran Services

Alamo Area Council of Governments (AACOG): Provides veteran resource navigation, transportation assistance, caregiver support, aging and disability services, and referrals to community resources throughout the Alamo Region.
Bexar County Department of Military & Veterans Services: Provides benefits counseling, claims assistance, advocacy, and referrals to local, state, and federal veteran programs and services.
Disabled American Veterans (DAV): Provides free assistance with VA claims, appeals, transportation services, and veteran advocacy.
South Texas Veterans Health Care System: Provides comprehensive healthcare services for eligible veterans throughout South Texas.
The American Legion: Provides veterans advocacy, benefits assistance, youth programs, and community engagement opportunities.
Texas Veterans Commission (TVC): Assists veterans, dependents, and survivors with disability compensation claims, pension benefits, education benefits, employment assistance, and other state and federal veteran benefits.

American GI Forum – National Veterans Outreach Program (AGIF-NVOP): Provides transitional housing, counseling, workforce development, food assistance, job placement, and benefits navigation services.

Gary Sinise Foundation: Builds custom, mortgage-free smart homes with specialized features for severely wounded veterans and their families.
Haven for Hope: Offers comprehensive homeless services including veteran-specific programs, housing navigation, healthcare, employment assistance, and recovery services.
Military Warriors Support Foundation: Provides mortgage-free homes, transportation assistance, and leadership programs for combat-wounded veterans and Gold Star families.

Esposas Militares Hispanas: Provides education, advocacy, scholarships, translation services, citizenship classes, and support for Hispanic military and veteran families.
Pink Berets: Provides support for women veterans through military sexual trauma support, crisis stabilization, wellness programs, retreats, and peer support.
Women Veteran Calendar: Raises awareness of women veterans and supports women veteran-focused nonprofit organizations.

Family Support & Emergency Assistance

Family Violence Prevention Services (FVPS): Provides emergency shelter, counseling, legal services, and violence prevention programs for individuals and families experiencing domestic violence.
Latched Support: Provides pregnancy support, parenting education, doula services, car seat safety education, and family support programs.
