Climate Pollution Reduction Grant (CPRG)

The United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) awarded a $1 million Climate Pollution Reduction Grant to the City of San Antonio to develop a regional climate plan. The Alamo Area Council of Governments (AACOG), in partnership with the City of San Antonio, is leading the effort to create this plan that will serve as a framework for a more sustainable, resilient and economically competitive region.

This Comprehensive Climate Action Plan (CCAP) for our region is called the Alamo Area Climate Plan and covers AACOG’s 13-county service area. It provides a roadmap that includes diverse actions and strategies that local governments and public and private sector partners can pursue to reduce greenhouse gas emissions that impact our air quality and that also:

  • Protect our environment
  • Strengthen community resilience
  • Improve public health
  • Drive sustainable economic growth and development
