SA Climate Ready 2035

Since the SA Climate Ready Plan (2019) adoption, we have made significant progress in climate action by advancing community resilience through:

Municipally, we have:

  • Reduced the energy consumption of our buildings through the municipal on-site solar project.
  • Improved circular economy with the adoption of the deconstruction ordinance.
  • Continued electrifying the municipal fleet.

Now, the City has started to update the plan as it is required every 3 – 5 years. This process consists of a review of the plan with the help of our community and municipal stakeholders who advise and inform the update. At the end of this process, we will have the SA Climate Ready 2035 Implementation Plan, which will serve as plan roadmap.

Subcommittees

Three subcommittees have been formed to advise the update to the plan and communicate progress to the SA Climate Ready Advisory Board.
