Mayor’s Special Housing Supply Task Force Report(PDF, 3MB)
In August 2025, the Mayor directed District 4 Councilmember Edward Mungia, the Chair of the Planning and Community Development Committee, to establish a Special Housing Supply Task Force to develop recommendations to increase specialized housing supply for veterans using housing vouchers, people with disabilities, older adults, and unhoused LGBTQ+ youth.
The Special Housing Supply Report provides these initial recommendations, which will be incorporated into future planning work around affordable housing.
Advancing Access to Early Learning and Child Care in San Antonio Report(PDF, 365KB)
In February 2026, the Mayor, in partnership with District 6 Councilmember Ric Galvan, hosted an Early Learning and Child Care Roundtable that convened over 20 early education experts to identify key priorities for the City to increase access to high-quality and affordable early learning.
The Mayor’s report renews city attention on early learning and child care challenges and outlines a list of actionable steps that can be taken to ensure every child under five years old in San Antonio can enroll in a high-quality, affordable program in their school district or neighborhood.
Federal Funding Tabletop Exercise Report
As the City grapples with potential funding cuts, the Mayor asked City staff to host a tabletop examining two scenarios: a 50% reduction in federal funds for affordable housing, and a 50% reduction in federal funds for public health. The purpose of the tabletop was to unite community partners to understand potential risk profiles, identify planning assumptions, and determine where changes in service levels may inform funding prioritizations from the City.
