Mayor Jones is inviting the community to provide direct feedback on two new reports, the Special Housing Supply Report and the Mayor’s Policy Report on Advancing Access to Early Learning and Child Care Report.

Your feedback is important to us. The surveys are available Thursday, April 9 to Friday, May 1 at 5 p.m. CST.

Special Housing Supply Report

In August 2025, the Mayor directed District 4 Councilman Edward Mungia, the Chair of the Planning and Community Development Committee, to establish a Task Force to develop initial recommendations to increase specialized housing supply for veterans with housing vouchers, people with disabilities, older adults, and LGBTQ+ youth without homes.

The Special Housing Supply Report provides these initial recommendations, which will be incorporated into future planning work around affordable housing.

Mayor’s Early Learning and Child Care Report

In February 2026, the Mayor, in partnership with District 6 Councilmember Ric Galvan, hosted an Early Learning and Child Care Roundtable that convened over 20 early education experts to identify key priorities where the City can help increase access to high-quality and affordable early learning.

The Mayor’s new report renews city attention on early learning and child care challenges and outlines a list of actionable steps that can be taken to ensure every child under 5 years old in San Antonio can enroll in a high-quality, affordable program in their school district or neighborhood.
