Misty Spears

City Council District 9 Councilman John CourageMisty Spears’ background is uniquely suited to serving the needs of San Antonio’s District 9, combining professional expertise with a deep commitment to her community. A proud graduate of Texas Tech University with a B.B.A. in Accounting, she built her career as an accountant for Clear Channel Communications and Pioneer Drilling in San Antonio. Her professional journey also led her into the legal field, where she excelled as a lead paralegal, handling complex cases and municipal matters for Texas cities and government entities—experience that gives her a distinct edge in navigating local government challenges.

Prior to her election to San Antonio City Council, Misty served as the Director of Constituent Services for Bexar County Commissioner Grant Moody. In that role, she gained invaluable, boots-on-the-ground experience, connecting directly with residents and businesses, and learning the importance of open communication and accessibility. She developed a clear understanding of how to navigate government processes efficiently to address concerns and deliver results, preparing her to serve District 9 effectively from day one.

Outside of her professional experience, Misty has long been a dedicated community servant. She has volunteered as a precinct chair, HOA secretary, and active PTO member. She and her husband, Adrian Spears, are proud parents to three daughters, and her faith remains a cornerstone of her life as an active member of Summit Church.

Now serving on the San Antonio City Council, Misty is focused on strengthening public safety, improving infrastructure, supporting veterans, protecting seniors, and fostering job growth. Her leadership is marked by compassion, common sense, and a relentless work ethic. She is honored to represent the people of District 9 and is committed to building a city where families feel safe, businesses can thrive, and every voice is heard.
