Prosecution Division

The City Attorney's Office Prosecution Division is led by Deputy City Attorney Jose Niño. The mission is to provide quality services to make the City a safer, cleaner community.

The division prosecutes Class C misdemeanors pursuant to state laws and City ordinances, including, but not limited to code compliance, truancy, traffic, juvenile and family violence violations.

Attorneys in this division also file civil lawsuits to protect the public from the dangers posed by common and public nuisances, help regulate the sexually oriented business industry, and defend the City against appeals of Building Standards Board demolition orders.

Attorneys work closely with Police, Fire, School Administrators, and Inspectors from development services, code compliance, animal control and the health department to enforce City regulations.
