  • Responsible for planning and developing vehicle and equipment specifications and bidding schedules for the City’s fleet.
  • Prioritizes the purchase of alternative fuel and reduced petroleum propulsion units.
  • Provides oversight for the Equipment Renewal and Replacement Fund.

Fleet Operations & Maintenance

  • Ensures the City’s light duty fleet and equipment are operational for use.
  • Provides maintenance to approximately 3,000 units.
  • Provides parts for the maintenance and repair of vehicles.

Dedicated just for the service of the San Antonio Police Department (SAPD):

  • Administrative support vehicles
  • Police cruisers
  • SWAT command units
  • Vans
Central Shop

Dedicated for servicing light duty trucks and sedans.

Fuel

Manages the fuel inventory and car wash facilities for the City. Fuel types consist of:

  • Diesel
  • Propane
  • Red-dyed diesel
  • Unleaded

Oversight includes:

  • Eleven fueling facilities
  • Seven automated car wash facilities
  • Four manual car wash bays
