Parks and Recreation hosts Earth Day event at Woodlawn Lake Park

SAN ANTONIO (April 15, 2024) – San Antonio Parks and Recreation is celebrating Earth Day 2024, an official Fiesta event, at Woodlawn Lake Park (1103 Cincinnati Ave) on Saturday, April 20 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Earth Day offers the community an opportunity to come together and celebrate nature, conservation, and sustainability while enjoying a free, fun-filled event. Earth Day will feature over 70 community partners, hands-on family activities, engaging dance and musical performances, tree and plant giveaways, fishing, fitness activities and more. Sponsors include H-E-B, Rambler Sparkling Water, and Lettuce Grow.
Vegan and vegetarian menu options will be available for purchase from local food vendors including:
- Elotitos Corn Bar
- Fat Tummy Empanadas
- Go Vegan San Antonio
- Makan Halal Cuisine
- Rambler Sparkling Water (complimentary, while supplies last)
- Rosa’s Kitchen
- Rosa’s Rusas
- The Cookie and Comfort Food Lady
- The Pour Box Coffee
Know Before You Go
- Water refill stations and water fountains will be available at Earth Day. Bring a reusable water bottle to help reduce single-use plastics.
- Earth Day food vendors are committed to providing compostable or biodegradable plates, cups, and utensils. Bringing your own reusable bags, containers, cloth napkins and utensils helps to reduce waste.
- Leashed dogs are welcome. Please remember to bring a doggie bowl and waste bags for your pet.
- Carpool or use public transportation to further reduce your carbon footprint.
