SAN ANTONIO (November 12, 2025) – The City of San Antonio, through the Neighborhood and Housing Services Department (NHSD) and community partners, celebrated the opening of Village at the Loop, a new affordable housing community providing safe, high-quality homes and resources to strengthen families and neighborhoods.
The City of San Antonio provided over $3.5 million of support for Village at the Loop through the HOME Investments Partnership Program funding and the Northeast Corridor TIRZ. Additional funding and collaboration from multiple partners were necessary to support the completion of this project.
“This project reflects what happens when the City, developers, service providers, and neighbors come together with a shared vision,” said NHSD Director Veronica Garcia. “Village at the Loop reflects a simple truth: affordable housing opens doors—to safety, to opportunity, to connection, to community."
Village at the Loop features 92 one-, two-, and three-bedroom units with energy-efficient appliances and modern amenities. Shared community spaces include a community room, business center, fitness room, playground, and swimming pool, offering the community opportunities to connect, learn, and grow.
Prospera Housing and Community Services, a trusted partner managing over 50 properties and 10,300 community members, will provide on-site programs addressing food access, transportation, financial literacy, youth programming, adult education, eviction prevention, employment readiness, and health services in collaboration with local providers.
Designed to serve households at 60% of the Area Median Income, Village at the Loop exemplifies a commitment to stronger communities through collaborative development, thoughtful design, and supportive services.
