Thirty-one Shelter Dogs Hoping for the Best Halloween Treat

Published on October 29, 2026

SAN ANTONIO (October 29, 2026) – This spooky season, San Antonio Animal Care Services (SAACS) is hoping to give shelter dogs something sweeter than candy – a loving home of their own. On Saturday, October 31, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., the department is teaming up with Dogtopia for the Halloween-themed “Boo-tacular” adoption event at their Stone Oak location, 2106 East Sonterra Blvd., Suite 103.

The lifesaving goal of the event is simple: find at least thirty-one dogs a home on Halloween. Boo-tacular will feature $0 adoptions for participating SAACS pets, canine enrichment activities, and a trunk-or-treat for the kids, while the sweets last. All adopters will receive goodie bags sponsored by our Dogtopia partners. Run Paws will also be on site to showcase the benefits of canine exercise.

Costumes are welcome, but please leave your four-legged furry monsters at home so we can spotlight our Dogtopia fosters during this Boo-tacular adoption event.
