Officer Charged with Unlawful Installation of Tracking Device

SAN ANTONIO (November 5, 2025) – The San Antonio Police Department was notified SAPD Officer Richard Boyle turned himself into the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office following the issuance of an arrest warrant for an off-duty incident that occurred in March 2025. Boyle has been charged with Unlawful Installation of Tracking Device, a Class A misdemeanor.

Officer Boyle, a 24-year veteran of the Department, is assigned to SAPD’s Off Duty Employment Detail. He is currently on Administrative Duty.

The San Antonio Police Department is conducting an administrative investigation into this incident.
