Head Start Policy Council Seeking Applicants

The City of San Antonio is seeking applicants for its Head Start Policy Council. The deadline to apply is November 28, 2025.

San Antonio residents who want to help support Head Start’s mission of preparing children and engaging families in school readiness and lifelong success are encouraged to apply.

San Antonio residents who live or work in the geographical areas of San Antonio Independent School District (SAISD) or Edgewood Independent School District (EISD), who want to assist in Head Start’s mission in preparing children and engaging families in school readiness and lifelong success, are encouraged to apply.

Role of the Board

The Head Start Policy Council participates in shared decision-making, including the approval or disapproval of the City of San Antonio Head Start program policies, program planning, and fiscal oversight.

The Policy Council meets every fourth Tuesday of the month at 6:15 p.m. at the Head Start Office.
