District 8 Councilmember Celebrates 100th Day of School at Mead Elementary School

SAN ANTONIO (January 23, 2026) – Councilmember Ivalis Meza Gonzalez joined students and staff at Mead Elementary School, a Title I school located in District 8, to celebrate the 100th Day of School with a special morning visit recognizing educators’ hard work and students’ academic progress.

To mark the occasion, the District 8 Office provided breakfast tacos, orange juice, and donuts to help kick off the day in a festive and supportive way. The team also brought traffic-safety coloring books and crayons for students to enjoy during the school day.

“The 100th Day of School is an important milestone that celebrates perseverance, learning, and growth,” said Councilmember Meza Gonzalez. “I am deeply grateful to our teachers for their invaluable work and dedication to our students every day. It was a joy to recognize the commitment it takes to reach this point in the school year.”

The visit reflects the District 8 Office’s ongoing commitment to supporting students, educators, and families, thus strengthening partnerships with local schools throughout District 8.
