SAN ANTONIO (July 23, 2026) – The City Council District 1 Office has partnered with Centro San Antonio to present Sounds of Downtown, a summer concert series featuring live performances by local musicians, food trucks and a welcoming atmosphere in the heart of downtown at Travis Park (301 East Travis St.) every Thursday at 7 p.m.

The free, family-friendly series features new performers and food trucks each week, offering residents and visitors a fresh experience throughout the program series, which concludes on August 27. The Sounds of Downtown collaboration supports the City of San Antonio’s ongoing efforts to activate downtown public spaces and encourage community engagement.

“Downtown belongs to everyone, and with free parking available, we’re making it easier than ever for our residents to come out and enjoy it,” said District 1 Councilmember Sukh Kaur. “This concert series gives our community an easy reason to come together, enjoy live music, and support our local businesses this summer.”

Attendees are encouraged to take advantage of the City's Downtown Thursday initiative, which offers free parking at City-owned lots and garages from 5 p.m. to 2 a.m. throughout the summer, including Lot A at the Alamodome, along with complimentary rides on The Local SATX micro-transit service for convenient access to downtown events and destinations.

“Downtown is San Antonio’s gathering place, and Sounds of Downtown is a great example of how strong partnerships can make our city center even more welcoming,” said Trish DeBerry, President and CEO of Centro San Antonio. “Centro is proud to partner with City Council District 1 to create experiences that bring people together, support local businesses and invite the entire San Antonio community to explore and enjoy the heart of our city.”
